Pygmy goatsFrom Vol II of Rubber to the Road, Infinity & Beyond has been a mainstay of mine on rainy days when climbing up into the west hills sounds cold. Or I do this ride when I’m looking to change things up a bit and want to head into Washington State. There are lots of twists and turns on this ride to keep you occupied and a couple of punchy hills too.

The ride begins at the I-205 bridge and Marine Dr, immediately crossing over into WA. Ride through the east side of Vancouver until the ride gets a bit more rural on 172nd Ave. 164th St is a hefty hill but is only about a ΒΌ mile long. Now the map resembles a staircase as you negotiate a number of turns heading south towards Lacamas Lake. Here you can stop in at the park to refill bottles if need be. There are also a few stores in the area. Another climb awaits up Lake Rd, but it is reasonably gradual up to Parker St. Then another hill on Parker before descending down Pacific Rim Blvd.

Cascade Park Dr and Talton Ave head through suburbia with limited traffic. Then McGillvray Blvd will take you back to the I-205 bike path. Enjoy the view while riding over the Columbia as you return to the great state of Oregon.
