Printing the Maps

If you aren’t carrying a GPS device, we recommend bringing a Portland area road map with you on your ride. As a supplement, you can print any Rubber to the Road course map, using the GPSies print icon. Here’s how:

1. Follow the links your ride’s Directions page, and look for the GPSies-powered interactive map.

2. Click the printer icon at the top of the map. GPsies will generate a print-friendly version of the map, and open it for you in a new window.

3. Click the “Print” button at the top of the new map, and you’re in business.

By default, GPSies will generate a few pages of ride stats along with the map. It’s all interesting, but if you only want the map, use your browser to select “Print Preview” (often found in the “File” menu), see which page contain the map, and print only that page. Depending on your printer, size of the printed map may vary.

Keep in mind: these rides cover a lot of territory, so even a full-page map may be short on some details. The good news is you can zoom in and print just part of the ride, if you see an unfamiliar section.
